The 28-year-old will be available in January following a breakdown in his relationship with the Bundesliga side, and the Blues are among the clubs to have been alerted he's on the market.
Chelsea are open to signing another striker, as Alvaro Morata has struggled with the demands created by the club's congested schedule.

DORTMUND WANT MKHITARYAN BACK

Borussia Dortmund are interested in bringing Manchester United attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan back to the club, according to the BBC .
Mkhitaryan left Dortmund for United in a £30 million deal in the summer of 2016, but he has struggled for consistency during his time at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho has criticised Mkhitaryan for disappearing in games and now Dortmund are considering an approach to re-sign the Armenia international.

RONALDO TO OPEN PSG TALKS

Cristiano Ronaldo has told agent Jorge Mendes to open talks with Paris Saint-Germain, according to Spanish outlet DiarioGol .
The Portuguese is said to want either a wage increase at Real Madrid or the option to leave without incident at the end of the current season, requests that president Florentino Perez has no intention of granting.
As such, Ronaldo wants to keep his options open and PSG are believed to be the only side capable of being able to fund a move for the 32-year-old.
